FinTech and Innovation Department
IT Support Engineer
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide timely and effective technical support to end-users via various communication channels, including email, phone, and in-person
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues related to desktop computers, including operating system problems, software installations, printer configurations, and network connectivity
- Install, configure, and upgrade desktop hardware and software components, including operating systems and productivity suites
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on desktop systems, such as applying software updates, antivirus scans, and system optimizations
- Collaborate with other IT team members to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems that require additional expertise
- Document support activities, including issue resolution, troubleshooting steps, and frequently asked questions
- Assist with the procurement and inventory management of desktop equipment, ensuring proper asset tracking
- Provide basic training to end-users on the effective use of desktop systems and software applications
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends related to desktop support.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in providing technical support for desktop systems in a professional environment
- Strong knowledge of desktop operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS) and productivity software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
- Familiarity with computer hardware components and peripherals
- Understanding of network protocols, IP addressing, and basic network troubleshooting
- Solid problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical users
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks independently in a fast-paced environment
- Customer-focused attitude with a commitment to providing exceptional service.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) or similar
- Experience using remote desktop support tools and ticketing systems
- Familiarity with Active Directory and basic group policies
- Knowledge of software deployment and imaging tools (e.g., Microsoft SCCM, Ghost)
